As children, the bike was our independence. It was about testing ourselves against the world, the big world, the world our parents warned us about. It was about exploring places we were told not to go. Chasing trails that went too far. Climbing mountains that were too high.

We rode miles away from what was familiar. Sneaking out at night. Racing at top speed. Riding just to ride. It was the first time we felt in control of ourselves.

It was a big world, but it was ours.
